Public funding programs give automotive companies extra budget to share the cost of technology bets that are too risky to fund alone. EU programs cover 70% to 100% of a company’s eligible costs. For 2027, we used Prism to find 12 programs open to automotive companies, with €286M in EU calls alone. Batteries, materials and manufacturing take about 70% of that money, and most calls open between 17 November and 15 December 2026.
